Motif Number 1, a fishing shack located at Bradley Wharf in downtown Rockport, Mass., is often referred to as the “most often painted building in America.” Walking along the wharf, in the early evening hours, I could definitely see why. The light was just starting to turn soft and golden upon the red of the building casting warm reflections into the water. It is clearly a tribute to New England maritime culture.
